Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Tradecraft platform operated by Tradecraft ("we," "us," or "our") at usetradecraft.io. By creating an account or using the API, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Tradecraft provides infrastructure that allows you to create AI-powered trading agents that execute buy and sell orders through Alpaca Markets. This includes an API for programmatic control, hosted agent deployments that run on a schedule, and a dashboard for managing your agents and reviewing activity.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to trade securities in your jurisdiction to use Tradecraft. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements. Tradecraft is intended for use by developers and sophisticated users — it is not a consumer brokerage or financial advisory service.

3. Your Alpaca Account

Tradecraft does not hold your funds, custody your assets, or operate as a broker-dealer. All trades are executed through your own Alpaca Markets account. You are responsible for maintaining a valid Alpaca account, ensuring sufficient funds, and complying with Alpaca's own terms of service. Tradecraft acts solely as an authorized intermediary that transmits instructions on your behalf.

4. API Keys and Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your Tradecraft API keys and Alpaca credentials secure. Do not expose keys in client-side code or commit them to source control. If a key is compromised, revoke it immediately in the dashboard. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any trades executed by agents using your credentials.

5. Trading Activity and Financial Risk

Trading involves significant financial risk, including the possibility of total loss. Tradecraft does not provide investment advice, financial guidance, or recommendations of any kind. Any strategies you configure, prompts you write, and orders your agents submit are entirely your own decisions. We are not liable for any losses resulting from trades executed through the platform, including losses caused by bugs, model errors, data feed issues, downtime, or unexpected market conditions.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your trading activity complies with applicable laws, including regulations around algorithmic trading, market manipulation, and securities law in your jurisdiction.

6. Hosted Agents and AI-Generated Decisions

When you deploy a hosted agent, you are directing an AI model to make autonomous trading decisions based on a strategy prompt you provide. You understand and accept that AI models can produce unexpected, incorrect, or suboptimal outputs. Tradecraft does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or profitability of any agent's reasoning or actions. You should monitor hosted agents regularly and use paper trading to validate strategies before deploying with real funds.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Tradecraft to engage in market manipulation, wash trading, front-running, or any other activity that violates securities law or Alpaca's terms of service. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's infrastructure. Accounts found in violation may be suspended or terminated without notice.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Tradecraft available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (including Alpaca's), and unforeseen incidents may cause downtime. We are not liable for missed trades, incomplete orders, or financial losses resulting from service interruptions.

9. Fees and Billing

Access to Tradecraft is subject to the pricing in effect at the time of your subscription. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. If you cancel, you retain access through the end of your billing period. Refunds are issued at our discretion.

10. Intellectual Property

The Tradecraft platform, API, documentation, and all associated software are our proprietary property. Nothing in these terms grants you a license to redistribute, resell, or create derivative products based on Tradecraft's infrastructure. Your strategy prompts, agent configurations, and trading data remain yours.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, non-payment, or actions that pose a risk to other users or the platform. Upon termination, your agents will be stopped and your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tradecraft is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or financial losses arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months preceding the claim. This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such losses.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Tradecraft harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the platform, your trading activity, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
